Terms of Service
Last updated 1 July 2026
1. Agreement
These terms govern your use of rescape.earth (the “Service”), which generates downloadable models of buildings and terrain from map regions you select. By using the Service you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.
2. The Service
You draw a region on the map and we generate a downloadable file — buildings and terrain as a CAD (DXF) or 3D-print (STL) model. We aim for accurate output but the Service is provided on an as-is basis and we make no guarantee that any particular region, feature, or level of detail will be available or complete.
3. Accounts
Some features require an account. You’re responsible for the activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Provide accurate information and let us know promptly if you suspect unauthorized use. You must be able to form a binding contract to use the Service.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- abuse, overload, probe, or attempt to disrupt the Service or its infrastructure;
- access the Service through automated means beyond the normal interface, or circumvent rate limits, quotas, or the payment flow;
- resell or redistribute access to the Service itself; or
- use the Service to break the law or infringe others’ rights.
5. Payments
Small regions are free; larger exports are paid. The exact price for a region is always shown before you pay (see Support for current pricing). Payments are processed by Stripe; we don’t store your card details.
For paid exports we place an authorization hold when you submit and capture it only once the export completes successfully. If a job fails, the payment isn’t captured. If you believe you were charged for a job you never received, email us and we’ll make it right.
6. Your files & data sources
You may use the files you export — for personal, commercial, or professional work — as you see fit. The models are derived from third-party open data, including building footprints from Overture Maps / OpenStreetMap and elevation data from public sources such as USGS 3DEP. Those sources carry their own licenses and attribution requirements, and you’re responsible for complying with them when you use or redistribute the output.
7. Accuracy & fitness
The models are approximations built from open data and automated processing. They are not survey-grade and must not be relied on for engineering, legal boundary, navigation, safety-critical, or life-safety purposes. Verify against authoritative sources before using the output for any decision that matters.
8. Intellectual property
The Service — its software, design, and branding — belongs to us. These terms don’t grant you any rights to the Service itself beyond using it as intended.
9. Disclaimers & liability
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the Service. Where liability can’t be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the export at issue.
10. Termination
You can stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to it or to others.
11. Changes
We may update these terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date above, and continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.
